For the Freedom

Privacy policy

To be replaced with the final policy after legal review, before launch.

Why we process data

We process the minimum needed for member verification, event reminders, running the forum, programme applications and account management.

What we process

Your email address, the name you use in the app, a profile photo (optional), where you live (province and district), your date of birth, an identity verification value, whether you are a verified party member, and your activity such as posts and comments. Identity verification also discloses your legal name and phone number to us; we discard both immediately and never store them.

Identity verification

Signing up requires identity verification so that one person holds one account. The connecting information (CI) this returns is kept only in an irreversible form, so it cannot be matched against the same value held by any other service even if it leaks. Your date of birth is kept to confirm the minimum age for party membership (16 under Article 22 of the Political Parties Act) and any age requirements in internal party procedures.

Sensitive information

Whether you are a verified party member, and the data on your membership card, count as sensitive information under Article 23 of the Personal Information Protection Act (party membership). It is used solely for member verification and issuing the membership card, and is never used to target advertising.

Advertising

The app displays advertisements. To serve them, Google AdMob may collect your device advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA) along with device and network information, which Google processes outside Korea, including in the United States.

Opting out of personalised ads

You can turn off personalised ads in your device settings — Settings > Privacy > Ads on Android, Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on iOS. Ads still appear after opting out; they are simply no longer matched to your interests.

Directly sold ads

For ads sold directly by the operator, only daily totals of impressions and clicks are recorded. We do not store who saw or clicked an ad, and member information is never used to target advertising.

How long we keep it, and how we destroy it

We keep your data while your account exists. On deletion we erase your email address, profile photo, region, date of birth and identity verification value. Verification links you created remain so that the records of members you verified are not broken, but everything identifying you is erased with the rest. Records the law requires us to preserve are kept separately, and only for as long as required.

Sharing and processors

We do not share member information with third parties. We do rely on processors where the service needs them: Google (Firebase) for sign-in and file storage, Google AdMob for advertising, and a licensed identity verification agency for signup. Some data may be processed outside Korea, including in the United States.

Your rights

You may access, correct or delete your information, or ask us to stop processing it, and you may withdraw any separate consent at any time. Withdrawing consent for sensitive information means member verification features stop working. Send requests through the support form in the app or the contact below.

Safeguards

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords and identity verification values are stored only in irreversible form. The admin console requires separate authentication, and an operator action is written to a record that cannot be altered afterwards.

Who is responsible

The data controller for this app is the individual who operates it, not the party. Contact details go here before launch.

Deletion requests

account deletion page lets you request deletion at any time.
